Phoebe Wyatt Edge is a multidisciplinary designer and artist currently exploring the practice of jewellery and lapidary arts.
Compelled to commune with the world through making, Phoebe works with processes that are circular, use existing waste or leave no waste behind. Bringing meaningful pieces into the world in the way that nature would.
Currently she is based in Southport, on Nuenonne land in Far South Tassie. Many of the materials used in her work are mindfully collected from the area.

Glass
The glass collection plays with ideas of movement and stillness. Handmade with ‘farm glass’ found amongst abandoned agricultural sheds and dwellings while I was unable to travel during 2020.
The found shards are broken into smaller pieces before undergoing the month long process of smoothing and polishing in a tumbler.
Abalone
This collection explores the materiality of abalone shell through responding to its soft yet strong nature. Shapes are cut to follow existing curves, resulting in shapes akin to those you may find on the shore.
The natural process of attrition is recreated in the tumbler allowing the shell to be smoothed and polished further, letting its inner light shine through without the need for lacquers or varnish.
