Skimming Stones
The first iteration of these earrings originated in a thin sheet of aluminium. The shapes flowed from the way the shears moved with my hands and wrists; a sort of free form drawing with two blades.
It felt right for the composition to continue its life in shell, a little closer to the pebbles they remind me of.
Each piece is loosely traced and cut to gently fit with the shells existing curves.
They are lightweight for their size and emit a delicate clinking sound with movement.
I always feel a little more magical when I wear these.
